- Brief Screening: Results sent to your email (Cost: Free)
- Broad Screening: These screenings include a few different, more comprehensive questionnaires, screening for diagnostic criteria. These results are automatically compiled based on our algorithm and forwarded to your email. Screening results suggest the probability of disorders. Screening results are not formal diagnoses. (Cost: Free)
- Formal Assessment: These assessments include a full clinical interview, the administration of gold standard instruments, one on one time with Dr. Nieuwenhuizen and formal clinical reports. (For assessment prices click here)
Meet Dr. Nieuwenhuizen
Dr. N Introduction
Dr. Nieuwenhuizen is a licensed clinical psychologist, specializing in the assessment of neurodiversity in adults. Many adult clients with Autism, ADHD and Learning Disorders remain undiagnosed for a variety of reasons. Dr. Nieuwenhuizen applies best practices and evidence-based methods to help these clients obtain accurate diagnoses, understand their inner worlds, and provide recommendations aimed at growth, and thriving.
Professional Background
Dr. Nieuwenhuizen earned his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Marshall University. He earned two master’s degrees from the University of Stellenbosch and Southern Oregon university respectively. These included a master’s degree Clinical Pastoral Care and Organizational Development. Dr. Nieuwenhuizen’s academic journey started out with a BA degree in philosophy and theology and a subsequent B.Th (Equivalent to M.Div) degree at the University of Stellenbosch.
Dr. Nieuwenhuizen worked in a variety of settings from large integrated healthcare systems to teaching hospitals to small private practice settings. His assessment practice became more specialized and sophisticated, as research became clearer about the widespread underdiagnosis of developmental disorders. Dr. Nieuwenhuizen has been in private practice in Tacoma Washington since 2018.
Dr. Nieuwenhuizen taught as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Psychiatry at Marshall University and served as a member of the Marshall University Senate. Dr. Nieuwenhuizen also served as the Chair and founding member of Healthy Connections in Huntington West Virginia.
